Medium flood in Chenab at Khanki, Head Marala |

LAHORE:
Thousands mud houses and standing crops on hundreds acres were submerged due to countrywide rains and rise in water level in rivers.
High alert has been declared after medium flood in Chenab at Head Khanki and Head Marala.
Several areas have been affected due to intermittent rains and flooding in rivers.
The water in Chenab River has risen to two hundred and thirty five thousand cusec and caused damage to crops over vast areas. Several villages have been evacuated due to the fear of floods. The people in the area have been asked to shift to safer places.
Tehsil Jampur and Rojhan of Rajanpur in Punjab and 20 villages of tehsil Babakot, New Mirwah, Lashari and Sobhani in Dera Murad Jamali district of Balochistan have suffered huge losses in flash flood.
Director General Pakistan Meteorological Department Qamar-uz-Zaman Chaudhry has said the wet spell will be subsided in Karachi and other parts of Sindh in next 24 hours, while Islamabad, Kashmir, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa will receive rains with thunderstorm. |
