Take for example Luthria's very first film, Kachche Dhaage, it was a superbly directed film with Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan at their histrionic best and not to mention its still popular and classic music by legendary music director, late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. At best, it was a commission earner. His romantic outing in the form of Chori Chori, starring the likes of Ajay Devgn, Sonali Bendre and Rani Mukherjee was a flop and of course the multi-starrer, Deewar-Let's Bring Our Heroes Home which was a good thriller about the escape of the prisoners of war, tanked big time. His Taxi Number 9211 was another highly entertaining movie starring Nana Patekar and John Abraham that did just above average business. And his last outing, Hattrick with the passion of India, cricket as its theme failed to excite the audience.
All eyes are now on Milan's Once Upon A Time In Mumbai. The film is certainly getting red hot in the trade and distribution circle. The music is brilliant and its compositions are topping the charts with 'Pee Loon', featuring music's lucky mascot Emraan Hashmi is already a rage with the youths. The dialogue promos too are being loved by the audience with Ajay and Emraan mouthing some hard hitting one liners which suit their characters. So, the stage is set and we are keeping our fingers crossed that this time Milan gets what he deserved with his very first film, a super duper hit!
