NEW DELHI: A part from foreign secretary-level dialogues, India has proposed additional dialogues to Pakistan for the solution of regional issues, claims India media.

According to Indian media reports, the additional talks will mainly focus terrorism and regional security while the measures for confidence building and strengthening of bilateral trade will also be discussed.

The proposed talks be held either on Feb 18 or Feb 25 and has indicated that it is ready to discuss all bilateral issues of concern.

The decision to start foreign secretary-level talks signal a thaw in bilateral ties and is a reflection of India’s desire to keep “channels of communication open” with its neighbor.

However, Indian proposal to have Foreign Secretary-level talks with Pakistan is a calculated initiative to "unlock" the dialogue process and convey directly its immediate concerns, an Indian news agency said.

India paused the composite dialogue with Pakistan after the November 26, 2008 Mumbai attacks.

If Pakistan raises Kashmir and other issues including the issue of river waters, India is ready to listen to Islamabad’s point of view, an Indian news TV said.
