MURREE: Poling for by-elections of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly LA 40, Valley, 05 conducted in a peaceful manner at all four stations.

According to unofficial results total votes cast were 612 out of 1800 registered voters. Hafiz Ahemad Raza Qadri of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference secured 358 votes whereas Abdul Salam Butt of Pakistan Peoples' Party obtained 254 votes.

 

Two polling stations were set up in Murree at Government Boys Primary School for male voters and Girls Middle School Bazaar for female voters.

 

Similarly two separate polling stations were set up for men and women Kashmiri refugees voters at Bansragali, Kashmiri Mohallah.

 

Despite rainfall a good number of voters visited polling stations. No unpleasant incident has been reported.

 

This seat is reserved for Kashmiri refugees settled in various parts of country including Murree and the seat was vacated on the death of MLA of Muslim Conference Sana Ullah Qadri.
