KARACHI: Security forces averted another bombing attempt in Karachi on Friday as they successfully defused a bomb planted at the emergency ward of Jinnah Hospital.

Two bombs exploded in Karachi today, one outside the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center where the victims from the earlier attack on mourners were being treated, leaving 25 dead and dozens of others injured.

The third bomb concealed in a computer monitor was placed inside the JPMC emergency. The monitor was found when the bomb disposal squad was carrying out a search operation in the hospital to cleanse the area.

The bomb diffused by the experts was attached to near 20-kg explosives and was different in nature from the other two bombs those were found similar, a security official told the newsmen.
